OK,
so EC got back to me about Burning for Eight Days. (it's flocked, ping me if you're not friended)

1) the lez has to go. No f/f.
2) Needs more plot.

So, here is the question:
Do I revise...yet again, or do I just say "no thanks" and send it to Phaze for the Frost heatsheet?

I already submitted an earlier draft as a Frost when I hadn't head from EC.

The biggest problem with Phaze is the barJonas twins from Burning are the same as the benEzra twins that I submitted for the Frontier heat-sheet.

*boggle* More PLOT? Never heard that from EC...

Um. I think you might be a tad up a creek here. Slightly bad form to submit it somewhere else when it's under consideration from EC. If you don't hear from them, you have to officially withdraw it before you can send it out again. But between the two, you'll make more money with EC, so if you were going to skip out on one of them, I'd say stomp Phaze.

But there's more than money involved. Perhaps if you say "never mind then" they'll back off and let you keep the lesbian scene. Or can it be rewritten as a menage? I had a threesome scene with two women and a man, and they let me get away with that.

Tough call, hon. How much do you love this piece? I switched imprints so I could keep the NU stories the way I wanted them because I loved them, but I did whatever they told me to with TANDEM because I wanted money. It's all a tightrope.

I know it's bad form and I've been knotted up for a couple months about this, ever since I found out EC didn't lose it in the slush pile like I thought. (It was well after Christmas, I figured they wouldn't want it)

Phaze is going to get a really nice note saying "I'm so sorry, here, please have two guys celebrating the solstice" (or something similar)

This is not a "God, I'll die if they change one word of my deathless prose" piece. It's just a "oh crap, here we go again, and I have no idea what to do about the plot part."

I do have a solution for the lesbian scene tho'. The sex goes, and the talk and booze stay
