Stupid buracracy. Stupid insurance.

I spent 40 minutes on the phone making an appt. at a clinic I've been going to for 4 years. This is ridiculous. The earliest they can get me in is the 28th. And to add insult to injury, I'm classed as a "New patient." My dr. moved to NC.

This is why it pays to memorize your policy and group number, boys and girls. I rattled them off on the phone, since my wallet was in the van.

I know, I shouldn't bitch. I'm covered. Millions aren't.

But when you've been going to the same dr. for 5 years, you expect them to be able to find you in the computer (they couldn't), have the right address (they didn't) and already have your insurance info on file (they had one I haven't had for 4 years.

28th? Not good enough. Make a stink. You have every right to peace of mind. Hope you're okay.

Three weeks gives me time to monitor and report whether it is a problem or just menstrual bloat.

Strongly leaning to the latter. (Yes, I can see a pyramid from here, why do you ask? It's made of glass and on the bank of the Mississippi River. There's an Italian art exhibition in it)

The 28th is the first day the dr. is seeing new patients.
I'm not going to fight and risk having to change my clinic.

Well, that's just wrong, but then that's what I think of the whole US health-care system. Not that the National Health Service is much better. They're all very keen to push the message of vigilance down your throat but I still had to suffer three months of bureaucratic incompetence while waiting to have a pre-cancerous lesion removed.

You're now classified as a "new patient"? WTF? Ain't our health care system incomparable?

Hope you're not so sick that a mere three week delay will be a problem...

My doctor moved to North Carolina, and i haven't yet seen the one who took over. I'm late for my Annual. And now I have to have the Newbie work-up Before they can do the pelvic.

(After my last doctor accidentally opened the door on me, flashing everything pink I own at the whole nurses' station, I'm not entirely displeased to see a new one)

I'm not feeling ill. I just have a weird lump. And it's squishy.

I'm keeping my cool about it, and resolutely banishing images of biopsy needles, baldness from chemo and mastectomy scars from my mind. Hey, at least I have back-up boobs. 8)
