Inauguration Day
Jan. 20th, 2009 09:26 pmI didn't get to watch it. I worked today.
But I heard Obama take the Oath of Office and I choked up.
I sent a little prayer skyward. He's gonna need all the help he can get.
The speech was good. Now to see how much we live up to. (and uh, yeah, there is an option beside Abrahamics, Hindu and Non-believers)
I do not envy him. He is in much the same position as John Lackland was in 1200. A bankrupted country, disasterous foreign wars, political and domestic enemies, a populace already stretched to the limit.
Hopefully, he will be wiser than John. The lack of 17 children (5 by his wife) shows that already.
It will be interesting. Change always is, even if it's not comfortable.

"Those of other faiths and non-believers" would have been a nice parallel.
