I got my first Ellora's Cave cover. It's under the cut. Along with my reactions.




OK, he looks nothing like either man in the story. He looks like an escapee from an 80's teen movie.

Dear Bird, he's molesting the pumpkin.

Thumb ring. *snicker* Wrist tat *snerk* Tight little brown nipples...hmm, pumpkin guts are sexy? Who knew?

Well, I've seen worse, but he is a tad bland. :) Also, what is WITH EC models and the body art? Nothing against body art per se, but it's a very bad judgment call for a professional model, particularly when his modeling career involves taking off his clothes. :) It tells me EC is getting its models from, shall we say, less professional sources.

Remind me to show you TANDEM's cover sometime. It looks for all the world like the model is pleasuring himself behind the title of the book.

I like body art, when it fits the story.
But I understand this is a stock cover for Trick or Treats, and I know my guys are too old and too odd-looking to be mainstream romance models.

The thumb ring got me. It's...slutty.

Why are thumb rings slutty and not just gothy? In which cause he's a little old and a little too naked.

I think EC's cover art mixed with stuff about 'sex it up - no more plot - no sex it up' just makes me run away laughing at my freedom. Plus there's something wrong with not showing properly aged models. There's more to the world that some Smallville Farm Boy Reject with a Kryptonite mutation for buggering pumpkins.

I'm not sure why it's slutty, it just struck me that way.
I'm not used to men who wear more than 2 rings, a wedding band and a pinky ring.

It's a stock cover for the line. There'll be 2 or 3, and all the Trick Or Treat stories will have them.
