Bunny and I talked this evening.

She's not just taking a little crap at school (a little being defined as a random vicious comment that everyone gets). She's being actively assaulted on a daily basis. Some little bitch thinks it's funny to push her down the stairs of the gym.

So, she's keeping a log of what happens, when and who is behind her when she gets shoved. Also on the efforts she makes to avoid it. And Monday, she's going to the gym teacher with it. "I'm getting pushed down the steps. Could you keep an eye on things when we come in and see if you can catch them in the act?"

Should the gym teacher (who is a good sort) not act, we move up the chain calmly and cleanly, until I am standing in the principal's office yelling about assault law-suits.

On an upside, we got her pen and ink and some sample alphabets she likes. She's practicing.

Big hugs to you and Bunny. While I didn't have the push me around kind of bully in Jr. High, I had the other joy -- boys with grabby hands. I'm pleased to see that Bunny is talking to you about what is going on and that you're both taking steps to stop it. Another suggestion that might help is to suggest Bunny -- have her walk with a friend or friends in the hall. After some of the neanderthal, held back for failing grades, 9th graders started grabbing at me in the halls, I talked with a nice 9th grade boy who was the student assistant in one of my classes and after that he would walk me to class and to my table at lunch. With Mark with me I was safe when I went from place to place.
