Oct. 5th, 2003 09:01 pmMust be one of those bitch-goddesses. Cower, cower before me else I will aflict you with anorexia and a compulsion to be a fashion model!
As for lies:
1) At various times I have made money as a waitress, a casino cashier, a stripper, a call girl, a seamstress, a medical textbook model and a milliner.
All true.
2) I have lived in Peculiar, Dumas, Pocohontas, Tightwad, Greasy Corner and Lame Deer.
This is the lie. I did grow up in Peculiar. I lived in Dumas for a year. I almost moved to Pocohontas. Tightwad MO has a great BBQ joint and I took refuge there in a winter storm once while traveling. Greasy Corner is about 2 miles north of where my husband works. We looked at a house there. The most i've done in Lame Deer is pulled off the exit to nurse a baby who couldn't make it to Billings.
3) I have no eardrums.
True. Mine ruptured and never healed. A skin graft sort of took but is long gone. I do hear, but there is a definite loss.
4) I have a neurological disease so rare the last studies are over 80 years old.
True, the last studies on Levy-Roussay Syndrome were done in the 1920's.
5) I speak 4 languages, play 3 musical instruments, pursue 8 needlework hobbies, have written 2 cookbooks, have sex three times a week and hold a full time job.
Yes. I speak English fluently. Spanish, German and French, in descending order, I speak almost well enough to get my point across in an emergency. I play keyboard, recorder and dhoumbek badly. I sew, crochet, crossstitch, embroider, needlepoint, do plastic canvas, quilt and knit. I wrote a basic cookbook and a medieval cookbook.
I am a busy lady

Date: 2003-10-05 11:12 pm (UTC)So you were a milliner? Did you actually block the hats out of felt or what? (I've been looking for a hat form for some time, actually; I want to try knitting a lace sunhat for my mom.)

Date: 2003-10-06 06:12 am (UTC)I worked mainly in cloth, bag hats for the SCA, and some buckram (I made a few hennins). I never had to block anything. I'd like to do that. My kids have a really nice child-size fedora that's been scrunched to death.
Levy-Roussay denotes a lack of deep reflex action, delayed gross and fine motor control, weakness in the lower half the body and a couple other things I can't remember. It corrolates (but does not cause) with deafness in its subjects. (Then again, lesbianism corrolates with middle-ear deafness too)
I've never seen knitted lace. I'll bet it's pretty.
