The days are just packed
Jul. 31st, 2003 08:01 amDid I mention I have a really great kid? I called home about 10 AM and informed hubby I needed a cake by 12:30. He got the mix and woke Bunny, who made and frosted a really great chocolate cake for me.
She's taking bellydance class with me. Our first session was last night. She had a great time. She really wants a certain lavender outfit. The $148 pricetag made me go ACK! (I'm going to get it for her if she decides to continue dancing and has a public performance.) Not as badly as the $350 one on the costume I tried on. Bra and belt (plus 3 other accessory pieces) in peacock-black and silver. (peacock black is black beads with an iridescent blue/purple/silver/green coating)
I now understand Carrie Fisher's comment: "I moved and the costume didn't." Angel is pale and soft and very mobile. The costume was black and stiff and not going anywhere. ::blush:: I haven't shown that much skin in public in many, many years.
Being forced to watch myself in a bunch of floor-to-ceiling mirrors drives home the point of exactly how fat I've gotten. Well, that's part of what class is about: fixing it. 1 hour/week of exercise is better than the big nothing I usually get. I can step it up sa need be.
All in all, the dancing is great fun. And an hour's quality time alone with Bunny (getting there and back)is good too. She needs the dancing to get her through this awkward phase of puberty when she's growing so fast she can't keep up with her body. I'm not even stiff this morning.
When I got home, I found hubby had fixed Dazzle. So I went in and recaptured all my clips. Or rather all the ones from ANH. This time, instead of labeling folders by the video, I'm labeling them by movie. Did a load of laundry, read a bedtime story, cuddled my baby, read a few pages of Daley while waiting for hubby to finish up. (I love the image: Han runs over, yells for Chewie. Chewie, who's welding, stands up and bangs his head on the Falcon. Han skids to a stop and ducks the welding mask Chewie hurls at him.)
Tonight:
dinner, laundry, ESB captures, maybe some Smallville watching
