So much for my quiet night

I was going to have a quiet night alone at home for the first time in ages. Bun took the kids to a movie. Mudd had PFLAG.

I got the call no mother wants.
"Mom, we've been in an accident. Someone rear-ended me."


Now, here's the rest of the story:

We just paid the car insurance. Mudd sent the insurance card back with the payment. By accident. The insurance card came in the mail today. He put it in the car at 4:15 PM.

Bun was hit at 6:30.

Sometimes, the gods look out for us.

As far as I can tell, everyone is fine. Oli was crying when I was on the phone with Bun, but I think she was just scared. And she has her big brother to cuddle her and make it better.

Bun only drives the Focus (8 years old). And I think everyone is fine. I hesitate to call, because they have to call cops and insurance and all.

Yeah, that's one scary moment when you get the call that your child(ren) has been in an accident.

Oli was shaken up, but everyone's okay. I have no rear windshield and no left taillight.

Good thing it'll be a nice day to walk home from work tomorrow.
