The house is liveable.
I did my Fly-ing
and I watched "Skull of Nostradamus" which is an interesting Simon & Simon episode.
Hubby just called and said "The universe believes in parity. My a/c in my classroom is out."
Skull of Nostradamus. Mixed feelings.
1) Love the halloweeny feel of the ep, esp. Rick and the candy. The Trick-or-treaters hit the Simon house 3 days early, because "last year the big guy in the cowboy costume ate it all."
2) Do not like the handling of the witches. They seem to be a more medieval sect than a pagan group. Lots of long robes, chanting, etc. But nice that the coven members look very ordinary: a manicurist, a satellite dish salesman, a mechanic (who exorcises AJ's car, which gets possessed)
3) Love the bit in the graveyard. The coven has gassed the boys, and their dog Marlowe, and left them in closed coffins in open graves. Rick wakes up mad. He climbs out, does a "Yeagh!" take. He knocks on the next coffin ovr, demanding "AJ are you in there?" AJ just chuckles "Happy halloween." They have to wait by a payphone, wearing only the sheets they were wrapped in, until mom shows up with clothes and a ride home.
Favorite slashy bits:
1) Ginger, the Flaky!Roommate!Witch, takes each of the boys' hands, stares at them and says breathily. "Your fates have been intertwined throughout history. For example:" she turns to Rick, "these strong hands labored to build the Great Pyramid in Egypt." She turns to AJ "To honor him, your Pharaoh and master." AJ responds: "Imagine that. 4000 years later I can't even get him to take out the gabage."
(That reminds me, I need to get back to "Forever Simon" which traces those fates.)
2) When Jonathan, the coven leader, stabs AJ, Rick doesn't hesitate to shoot him.
3) When the coven members gas them, as a warning to stay away, Aj passes out with his head on Rick's shoulder. So cute.
Awana starts for the kids tonight. I worry about anything called "Truth and Training." We'll see how it goes
