A new plan

We have found it. The next Novel is a high fantasy thing involving fairies. Iris Tangle is one of a crack unit of fairy commandos sent out to find human wizards to aid the wee folk against a dark sorceress. Tangle has himself a big job on his little purple wings, since all he can find is dotty old hedge-wizard Korunir Kabix, usually called Corny Cabbage.

The D-Man Checks In: I -do- hope the villain will be a credible menace with a brain, the will & resources, and perhaps the minions to make the story interesting. A fearsome enough reputation might not hurt either, so that prospective "good" wizards may simply turn down the fairy recruiters rather than risk confrontation with the infamous dark sorceress (and what she's been known to do to those who dare stand against her).

Now, aside from the typical/boring appeal to the morality (do the right thing & oppose Evil) ploy... Just what do the fairies offer their potential allies for their assistance (worth risking their lives & holdings for), and just what is it do the wee folk have that a dark sorceress would be so interested in plaguing them for & taking (worth her time, resources, reputation, and potential new enemies)? The fairie realm is not something to go taking on lightly.

Wondering what the dark sorceress has for a stronghold? Hopefully not the stereotypical dark castle.

This one is going to be interesting. The villains, plural, might not even be seen until the end...

And Zara demands to know where better to ward off attacks from an overambitious brother than a well-fortified castle sitting on some powerful magic lines?
