Naomi and I had a busy day.
We sent "Crunchy with a Chewy Center," to Queer SF for the Queer Dimensions anthology.
We sent "Hunger for the edge" out for reprint in a charity anthology. (after a colon-ectomy)

I cleaned in the study. Still haven't found my hooks.

I knitted. I put in 41 rows. This stupid piece has been unraveled and re-knitted so many times I've lost count. But 41 is farther than I've ever gotten.

Our furnace died, so the guys are coming out tomorrow to work on it.

My great-uncle died on Thursday. He was my grandmother's brother. She died 23 Dec 2000. He'd buried a son this fall. He leaves 2 living sons, a daughter and his widow. There are 2 grandchildren. (might be great grandkids, since the grandkids are about 3 years younger than me)

Missed the Traveling Fates concert as Bun is grounded for 2 weeks. HARD grounding: no phone, no going anywhere except school. She slipped out last night, without telling us and without taking her phone. We tracked her by her phone, and her boyfriend, and got her home.

Okay, help me make sense of this: Bun took off without her phone, so (not having this item on her) you managed to track her by it? What? You called her boyfriend & he copped to their location after seeing by caller ID that his girlfriend--who was presumedly already with him--was calling, so he took the call anyway? I are confoozed...

We used her phone to call her current boyfriend, Johnny, who had brought her home at 9.

He said she mentioned something about seeing Alan that evening, so he called Alan. Alan had her home in less than an hour.

Funeral was very nice as they go. The minster actually knew Great Uncle and was a friend, that helped tremendously. The passage of time kills me. There are great grandchildren and I spent most of the time after funeral squinting at people trying to remember who they were.

As for Bun, I assume the phrase "What the Hell were you thinking?" was used often.

Yeah... I think I'm gonna hafta second that one, and maybe throw in thirds. Then again, she -is- a teenager with a hormones-ravaged brain & body. Doesn't make it right, what she did, but didn't we all screw up (a lot) when we were her age?
