My vacation, or a busman's holiday

My day job involves lots of driving and carrying boxes.

So what do I do for vacation?
I drive a lot (1565 miles) and carry a lot of boxes.

Mom was moving from a 2 story farmhouse to a 2 br apartment. We helped a lot by clearing out the upstairs and sparing her the 16 stairs up and down. The kids bucket-brigaded fabric and blankets, dolls and patterns, camping gear and general stuff down the steps.

I was lucky enough to see dakiwiboid for lunch on the way up and have breakfast with kc_risenphenix. They both look great and life seems to be getting better for them. *hugs to Ben as he starts 30 days of overtime*

We had a good visit with my dad and my sisters. BabySis had one day off so I got to see her and my neices. Saw jlm121 twice.

I packed everyone up this morning and headed out. Took a three hour lunch in St. Louis with reannon and her Spawn. Spawn decided he wanted to live in a house with 4 siblings in Arkansas and attempted to stow away. However, I was so packed, the only place to stow was the driver's seat.

I have Bath and Body Works, enough yarn to crochet an afghan for the whole city of Memphis, more steel crochet hooks that I can count, three new DVDs, 2 prs of shoes, a full set of circular knitting needles, a few bags of groceries and four kids that are wiped out.

Not going to be around much tomorrow, since I have to drive 8 hours for a 4 hour meeting.

Spawn just figured your house would be cleaner than our apartment. Glad you guys got home okay. Did you enjoy his ham-and-cheese sandwich? :D

Having recently helped my own mother move from a 3 bdrm house to a 2 bdrm apartment, I can completely understand your exhaustion. 8-)

The general St. Louis area woul be naught but a smoking hole in the ground.

But they'd have fun.
