Our editrix--picture her in black leather with a whip standing over Naomi and me chained to our desks in rags--has handed down the decree that none of the Robin Hood titles will work. We need something that screams erotic romance.

Naomi and I are down to
Under Robin's Hood and Naughty in Nottingham, both of which we hate.

All I've managed is Silken Skirts and Oaken Staves.

Please. I'm begging.

A sexy, ROMANTIC Robin title.

Thief of Hearts (kinda bland, I know)
Love(Lust?) Under(Upon?) The Sherwood Green
Robin Coxley & His Marion Made (yes, yes, not a chance, but it's fun :-P )

Guh. This is difficult. Good luck!

More erotic...I think we should revisit the SHAFT titles.
Loosing the Shaft, Robin's Plunging Shaft, The Hood and Shaft (kind of a clit and penis joke?).
The Sure-Wood Forest? One of my students suggests Robin of Nuttingham. *sigh*
Does this get any juices flowing? Creative juives, I mean!

Thief of Virtues
King of Thieves, Servant of Love
Round-heeled Robin (silly again, sorry)

It's a good theme, just little too porny and not quite romantic

Sometimes it's hard to tell with your stuff, what side of the erotic line you're on. I'll think of something more soft-core. Although I REALLY like the King of Thieves, Servant of Love one.
Totally romantic! Meltingly and sighingly romantic!

I liked that one too.
Naomi says it's too Costner.

But Robin...I made them wait, chapters and chapters, to get more than a single stolen kiss. And they're absolutely monogamous, love at first sight and all.

The sex is sexy, but it's strictly limited in this one.

Last April, the Absolutely Fabulous One sang a 13th century piece by Adam de la Halle "Robins m'aime" from "Le Jeu de Robin et de Merion". How about, "Le Jeu de Robin et de Petit John"?

Or, "Quarter Staffs in the River".

Hell, I don't know. You're the writer! Work C1 into the title. ;)

Ok, some follow-on suggestions;
Since the 13th century title translates, "The Games of Robin and Marion" that might actually work, but expanding from that, consider the following:
"La Passion de Robin et de Merion"
"Les Séductions de Robin et de Merion"
"La Débauche de Robin et de Merion"
"Les Orgies de Robin et Merion"

As you can see, the French is very similar to the English, so the meanings are fairly clear.

Ok, one more:
Continuing on the French theme (French is so romantic) and recalling Robins first meeting with Little John:
"Baguettes dans le Fleuve" (literally, "Rods in the River")

Okay I'll play...

I've had the same mandate re: my titles at EC. What's the subgenre? It sounds fairly comedic, so I'll go with that until you tell me differently.

Lusting after Loxley (?sp)
or Lusty Loxley or Loxley in Love
Rockin' Robin
Nottingham Nights

It's a swashbuckler, mostly.
Think the Errol Flynn Robin Hood movie.

There's humor, but it's more internal (the characters teasing each other) than external (goofy situations).

One of my favorite bits:

Marion smiled and nodded. A flutter of scarlet caught her attention and she pointed at the robin redbreast who perched on a low branch and sang loudly. “Isn't it sweet? Singing just for us.”

"It's warning us off its territory, my lady,” said the sheriff.

"Indeed I am!” came a hearty voice from above them. Robin Hood, all in Lincoln green, swung onto a low limb above the road directly before them. He bowed to Marion. “Welcome to Sherwood, my lady.” From the forest around burst scores of bowmen, all in Lincoln green, arrows on the string. “Now allow me to welcome you into my domain, Lord Nottingham. Peacefully.” He bowed to the Sheriff. “It is my hope you and your men will join us for dinner.”
