All in the Merry Greenwood got picked up by Ellora's Cave!

Problem is, the title isn't sexy enough.

So, fiends and neighbors, I need some help. Naomi and I find ourselves at loose ends for a title.

Here's the premise:

It's a basic Robin Hood story, hitting all the set pieces: the Golden Arrow, entertaining the Sherrif of Nottingham in Sherwood, a rescue from Nottingham castle, etc. However, there's a twist.

When Good King Richard died, he entrusted care of his infant son to Sir David of Doncaster, saying to keep him safe, by any means necessary. Sir David traded his crusader tabard for skirts and raised Marion as a princess.

Now, Marion is of age. Her uncle, King John, needs to solidify his hold on the northlands because of the Barons' War. He wants her to marry Nottingham. And Robin wants Locksley and the lady and all.

All we've got is:
Men of Sherwood
Loosing the Shaft
Outlaw of Sherwood
Under Robin's Hood
A Crown of Oak
Summer is icumming in

Help!!!

I can promise naming a character after you in a forthcoming piece. And thank you very prettily in the prologue.

Just thought I should point out - titles cannot be copyrighted. So just because there was another book or movie of the same title does not make it that author's property. Yes, an original title is probably best, but it's not illegal.

...And I think I read that one. I've read quite a few Robin Hoods.

It didn't make the short list.

We're hoping for "Crowned with Oak" but will settle for "Loosing the Shaft."

No, not illegal, but it's still not a good idea to reuse a title that's already been taken, especially for a book based on the same characters and themes.

And it's never a good idea to use a title that makes your co-author do That Face.

The one that looks like a cross between sucking lemons and sticking your tongue out.
