"Bree K. also said when Obama visited his tribe in '06 and as late as Jan. '08 he went to every elder's home which has a "shrine" inside to worship the genie and asked for their blessing. She was told Obama and Odinga were both "destined" before they were born to be president/leader of their nation. They say "he is the chosen one". She said Obama's grandmother sacrificed a black and a white chicken to the "goddess of the river" so both whites and blacks will vote for Obama. All Islam loves and worships Obama. The world is mesmerized by him. Oprah's 200 million followers are out to elect Obama. Also, Dick Morris of Fox News was sent to Kenya to help Odinga run his campaign! I find that unbelievable.

The occultists are "weaving lazy 8's around McCain's mind to make him look confused and like an idiot". Bree K. said we need to break these curses off of him that are being sent from Kenya."

The problem is, when people believe things like this, and spread stuff like this, it takes hold.

Then when the economy goes worse, or more stuff goes wrong, or more trouble comes, they have a ready-made target.

These people believe every story they hear about vanishing hitchhikers and hooks hanging from door handles, don't they?

No.

Remember, to them, witchcraft is only malign and used against people. They believe everything except their brand of Christianity is Satanism.

You have to approach this from their reality.

(also, saying "there is no such thing as witchcraft" negates all the garden-planning and house-cleaning I'm doing)

You have to approach this from their reality.

The trouble is - their reality doesn't allow for different points of view. You either agree 100% or you're "the other" and therefore your point of view is suspect at best and evil incarnate at worst, depending on the person...

My point was that we have to approach the discussion assuming witches are real, that people do believe in river goddesses, etc. Coming at it from "these beliefs are ridiculous" is a dismissive way to handle them, and insulting to many fine witches.

Just because I'm evil doesn't mean I'm wrong.

These people don't really believe in God. They believe as in God as an abstract, but their Devil is a concrete reality. And the Devil has all the charge over the world.

And yet when I read that, I go, "Wow, cool. He had enough respect for religions other than his, that he paid his respects at the shrines of his hosts. Cool."

People really have to watch who they energize with their words. It's not always who they expect.
