I went and did it.
The biggest submission of my writing life.

I subbed a story for Ellora's Cavemen. A vanilla het story.

The payment terms suck, but the exposure is worth it.
Oh gods...

The gals in my RWA group who write for EC told me that was the way to get around their year-long waiting period. Once you get assigned an editor, you never need go back in their slushpile again.

So go, you, with the submission and the quick route to the top.

I love having an EC editor. I send straight to her.
We've had 2 things out with them already and I'm lighting a fire to get the next two out of edits and into readers' hands.

That sounds like a very smart decision. This writing business is business after all.

We won't hear until December.

The deadline is Sept 30. They get thousands of stories and select 24. Naomi is more confident than I am. (A most unusual occurrence)

Good luck! And I see from your recent post on Elizabeth's yahoo group that you list Rolla as old stomping grounds. This is too weird. Not only do we have Memphis, Tom Smith and liberal politics in common, but my wife and I went to UMR. Heck I grew up 30 miles away in Vienna.

I graduated UMR in Dec 1991 with a BA in English.
Mudd got a BS in Physics in 89 and an MS in 1995.
We were there from 1986 to 1995

It's amazing we never ran into each other at Eclipse then. We were there from '91-'96 roughly. Then it was down to Springfield for grad school, then to Memphis in 98.

If you were in the Gaming Association, so were Richard and I.
Richard and Angel Sparrow. We lived in the big white house at 107 N. Rolla.

Nope. No gaming association affiliation. We just lucked into finding friends who played D&D and later Hero System.
