1) Jonner not only has hearing loss, he has something growing on his eardrum. We'll know more next week.

2) linehaul was late. there were huge returns, and an accident and inclement weather (my mirrors iced)

3) Mudd had to settle for Burger King for his 42nd birthday

4) No work tomorrow as there is no power at the dock. Nice to have a day off, lousy to lose $150.

:( I'm so sorry to hear that. My brother had substantial hearing loss as a child (80% in one ear, 50% in the other)but managed decently, once other kids understood that he wasn't rude, he really couldn't hear them. It was interesting how his social life changed when the teacher told the other kids that he needed to see their faces to talk to them. I hope that whatever he's got is a minor anomaly and it can be removed quickly.

That really is an awful day. *hugs* Hang in there.

I hope so.

But the loss is ongoing, from infancy. He's still in speech therapy because he had so many ear infections during his language acquisition period.

*nods* That was how it was with my brother. Some of my least fond childhood memories are of him screaming incessantly with them. Fortunately, speech therapy wasn't necessary that I remember, just social and lip-reading and such. Later, my mother actually became a speech pathologist, oddly enough.
