So EC wants an author interview for the October newsletter.
I suck at answering Cre8if Ritting questions. So, here's what I have.
Help?

"Raising the Dead"

"Raising the Dead" is the story of a writer and a history professor who cross a line in their relationship and have to get back to what they should be.

Shane, the writer, pens a line of gore-drenched thrillers featuring a psychopathic spree-killer, Fresno Blue. As Victor, his lover, requires more and more domination in order to cope with a professional life spinning out of control, Shane begins taking on more aspects of Fresno in order to help Victor.

I'm hoping the readers will enjoy the very strong kink levels involved, and Shane's dilemma of how to give Victor what he needs and not lose himself in the process.

> Who is your favorite character in the book and why?

That's a hard question, given there are only three named characters and one (Old Man Marsh who pees on his wife's begonias) never actually appears in the story.

I think my favorite is Victor. He's caught in circumstances that are too much for him, and using the sex to escape the reality for a while. I've been there. We've all been there.

> If you could be a shapeshifter, what form would you
> take and why?

A cat. My cats have it made. They complain and someone feeds them. They sleep all day, and all night. The kids pay oodles of attention to them.

> What's number one on your list of things you hope to
> do before you die?

Have a print book, with my name on the cover, and not be strictly e-published or in anthologies.

> Who's more fun, bad boys or perfect gentlemen and
> why?

Perfect gentlemen. Because the more perfection they feel they have to perform, the more deeply twisted the man inside. Bad boys tend to all fall into the same mold, one made by James Dean and Marlon Brando.
They walk tough, they talk tough and they go one of two ways: marshmallow or batterer.

But the perfect gentleman... He'll be ever so polite, ever so gracious, and wow you with his wine and art and music. And THEN he breaks out the sling and the blindfold and the feathered strap-on.

> Describe your idea of the perfect mate.

I'm married to him: smart, funny, good looking, musical, very, very devoted, and looks good in my clothes. We've been married eighteen years and have four kids.

> If you could have three wishes granted, what would
> you wish for?

Oh, that sort of thing never ends well...

The best way to handle it is first to wish for something for other people: That America would truly become a land that recognizes "liberty and justice for all."

Then to wish for something for your best beloveds: That my family and friends remain in good health.

And then for something for yourself: that when ever I reach into my pocket, the money I need is there in the sum I require. No more. No less.

> Besides your spouse or boyfriend, who makes your
> heart beat fast and why?

Quite a few people, actually.
Harrison Ford, first and always.

Michelle Pfeiffer. I've had it really bad since _Ladyhawke_.

Max von Sydow. Who else can be convincing as both Jesus and the Devil?

Anjelica Huston. Stunning woman. I fell for her watching _Ice Pirates_.

Oded Fehr. Those intense eyes. That kissable mouth. Guh. Need I say more?

> What else would you like readers to know about you
> or your work

I'm a library paraprofessional turned truck driver. I've been writing professionally since 2004, and the vast majority of my work is GLBT focused. All my published works are linked to my website.

The bit about my name is NOT for publication. It's to make sure the interviewer spells it right.
