Falcon called me this morning.

I've been let go because of a lack of work in my area.
The Shreveport runs have all shut down, and brokered freight is not cost effective.

"We don't even hire in that area any more."

I'm not fired.  It's not performance based.  And if the runs start up, they'll call.

Well, hell.
Can't say I didn't see it coming.

I have a CDL class A. I can pretty much write my own ticket.
I already have apps out, but am hoping for a Schneider National dedicated run.

Whew. Good. I had no idea what the general market is for drivers. Glad to hear you have options. :) Maybe you'll get out this way more often. Lunch a few weeks ago was really fun!

An LJ gal pal I ain't talked to in a while showed up the other day. She's in W.Va and things are so bad there work wise, her boyfriend is enlisting in the Army!

They've made all manner of 'assurances' about him getting 'technical training', but I know full well, once he's in, he's going to Iraq. *sigh*
