50 Book Update

3) Turn the other Chick. Ester Friesner, ed. More humorous stories of women in armor. Harry Turtledove's "Of Mice and Chicks" is a scream.
2) The Pirate and the Puritan. Cheryl Howe. Basic historical romance.
1) Neuromancer by William Gibson. Great grand-daddy of the whole cyberpunk genre.

Date: 2007-02-04 06:31 pm (UTC)The Chicks in Chainmail line is--like most anthologies--uneven. They're all good, but some are bust a gut funny and others are sweetly ironic. (and some, like Lee Martindale's "Combat Shopping" are ten times funnier when the author reads them.)
Ms. Freisner is going to be at MidSouth Con in March. I look forward to seeing her again. She's a sweet lady and let me fangirl all over her for a couple minutes last time.
