Is ded of GRRR
Jan. 23rd, 2007 08:08 pmTonight, Jonner had a speaking part in the 3rd grade program. So of course I went.
Now, when I was in 3rd grade, our program was a nifty little thing on various Indian tribes and showed what we had been studying all semester.
Instead I got the mandatory (Christian) prayer, and an hour long hectoring in song and rhyme by 9 year olds on the importance of character.
All I could think was Machiavelli:
It is better to have a reputation for being good than to exert oneself to be actually BE good.

That's how I got through high school. (Devin's in the halls during class? Don't bother to ask for a pass, because CLEARLY Devin would not be in the halls if she didn't have a pass.)
