So I ran racks up Tuesday. Wed morning, I picked up bottled water at the Pepsi plant in Munster IN (a Chicago suburb) and hauled it to Youngstown OH.

Then Thursday morning, I dropped the water at the Pepsi warehouse and picked up a load of cardboard boxes, just pallets of boxes, to take to St. Joseph MI (another Chicago suburb)

And Dispatch said "By the way, Personnel need to talk to you." The computer spat my name. Lucky ol' 8083 gets to take a random drug test in Toldeo. There is no good way to get from Wooster OH to Toledo...

So, [livejournal.com profile] eyeless_angel picked me up at the parking pad and took me into town for my test. Very patient lady as the drug test took about an hour, of which I spent 5 minutes peeing in a cup. I took her out to dinner, Steak & Shake, as a thank-you and for her birthday. She dropped me off back at the pad and I got on my way.

After I delivered Friday morning, I picked up a load of tomato sauce in Plymouth.

Next time someone says "Name brands HAVE to be better, look at all the advertising, etc." I have the perfect response.

I loaded 20 tons of tomato sauce at the Del Monte plant. They're all Best Choice brand. Same cans. Same sauce from the same vats (I could smell it cooking). Price difference, about 40c/can for different labels.

I walked about a mile Friday and my outer calves ached so bad. I hurt all day. And I did too much clutching this week. I can feel the clutch in my arches and my knees ache. And for a lousy 1200 miles this week. (That's about $400 before deductions)

But I got some knitting done and some writing and had a lovely dinner with a lovely lady.
It was a good week. Helped my confidence a lot that I can actually run the system without fouling up.

And it helped my confidence that yes, on little to no notice, I can drive across town in rush hour, find a parking pad I had no idea existed, *and* make a left turn on Reynolds/Conant Street without a light.

I just have to work on that left merge, tho.

;)
