NaNo, forthcomings and other stuff
Oct. 23rd, 2006 10:12 pmSo, parent-teacher conferences.
Obi is fine. His teacher thinks he's very cool, and I got to see a little bit of my kissy-cat, the kiddo I'm missing as he slides into hormonal adolescence. His best bud's folks are divorcing, and Obi's been his rock.
Jonner's teacher thinks he's a delight. So smart. Quiet, cheerful. But he is CONSISTANTLY flunking spelling. We're modifying his spelling tests.
Dollface... I think we're looking at an organic problem here. She's had a year of kindergarten. She's had 120 hours of the best tutoring (98% success rate). And she is putting along with the rest of her classmates, right on schedule. When her tutor ran her work off on purple paper and put her under an incandescent bulb, the kiddo's work went through the roof. We're working on getting her tested. Another meeting in 4-6 weeks.
NaNo: got Chuck trip-planned for his run, did a lot of plotting. It's just going to be getting it on paper in the intervals when I'm home. November? Is a really stupid month to do this.
Forthcoming work:
Oct 25:
"Hunger for the edge" (co-written with
eyeless_angel), in Eternal Darkness--blind vampires
"Singing up the moon" in Shifting Again. Gay werewolves in Memphis
Both from Torquere
Dec 2: My day on the TQ advent calendar. We're getting recipes from Paul's kitchen.
Christmasish:
"Blue Mistletoe" in Jingle Balls Return of the Gay Christmas Werewolves
2007:
"Tuition Fees" for the Arcana series (co-written with
eyeless_angel). I pulled The Devil trump
Kestrel on the Horizon (co-written with
eyeless_angel). Serialized starting in March. Gay pirates.
Deadlines:

jedi__santa due (1000 words)
Nov 30: Finish Glad Hands (50,000 words)
Dec 1: have BDSM valentine story for Phaze (5-12K, 12-30 pages)
Dec 21:

I agree with you - testing would be a really good step now.
