I talked to my mom last night.
You see, I'd sent her copies of "singing up the moon" and "cake under the mistletoe." I only told her "werewolves." I didn't tell her "gay."

I asked if her package had made it. she said "Yeah, I read it. It was...different. Not what I usually read." By now, gauging by her tone, I'm braced for a lecture and an impromptu coming out. Then she added "When's the next one? I'm crazy about the characters." And she said to keep writing.
