Chez Mudd goes to Gay pride
Jun. 10th, 2006 06:31 pmWe bundled everyone into the minivan and drove down to First Congo.
The kiddos were all wearing t-shirts that said "I [rainbow heart] my family."
Bun had her pride tee, and Mudd had "Straight but not Narrow."
I really need one that says "Nobody knows I'm a lesbian."
We had three offers to walk with various groups.
We decided to just watch. We came home with LOTS of rainbow beads. (The drag queens thought the kiddos were adorable and pitched us extra)
We found a patch of shade and watched the parade. People in the parade were pausing to get pics of my kids. Bun marched with her youth group. Mudd marched with PFLAG.
Bun was ogling. Pretty boys, pretty girls and everyone in between. I felt VERY Mrs. Robinson.
The walk back from the festival in Peabody park left me ill. Some water has been a restorative.
