If you were in Peculiar, you were about 60+ miles worth of lost. And off the main highways as well. Peculiar has a single exit off 71 highway.

(Lived there for 16 years)

I hear it isn't. Peculiar, that is. [livejournal.com profile] firefly67 and I have joked for years about opening a teashop there called the Peculiar Teashop.

Nothing too peculiar about it. One of my former classmates committed patricide on the main street last summer. That's about a decade's worth of excitement right there.

Sorry

O_O I've never heard of that Sharyn McCrumb. Is it new?

Not at all. It's about 15 years old. Amazon will tell you 1996, but I know I had read it in 1991 because I was discussing it at the Lansing VampFest. I was still trying to get pregnant with Bunny at that one.

It's basically grudge-wank that got published. I identified with the whole "recovering fan" idea then. Now that I'm back in fandom, I think I find it offensive.

nope on one, two and three but I've been to peculiar.

But I am thinking I should be exempt from this portion of the meme due to the fact I am related.
