Watch me be a lemming
Jul. 20th, 2005 04:23 pmThe Top 5 list meme is going around.
You know the rules. Ask me for "top five" lists of pretty much anything, and I will list you my top five of that thing or things.

Date: 2005-07-21 12:47 am (UTC)2) Over-use of effects until the floor pitches under me in a most alarming way.
3) Re-use of the same clips, over and over and over. I get that there are classic 'ship moments, but at least vary the other parts?
4) Metaphor? Random clip choice? over-caffination? I have no clue, but I can't follow that one.
5) Evanescence. Period.

Date: 2005-07-23 04:36 pm (UTC)2) Engaging plot. Don't make me throw things at the screen (Bodybags), don't use stuff I was writing as fanfiction at the age of 15 and KNEW was cliche even then (Haunted Mansion)
3) Accurate costuming. Dear GOD do not put anorexic women into leather bikinis and call it "historically accurate" (King Arthur)
4) Snappy dialogue.
5) Effects appropriate to the era. I can watch Harryhausen's workwithout irony, but it has to be in an older film. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen failed this one rather spectacularly.
