We arrived at 8 AM. I was so tired I was going northwest thinking it was southeast. We crashed at once. We got up about 11ish and I had a shower. We did all the usual stuff: got our badges, dropped off vids and art, and went for lunch. At 2 Bunny went to the Hogsmeade Weekend Party. At 4 was the vidder party. We saw some seriously old school stuff: tape to VCR tape type.

Then a quick dinner and I had to be back for
"Straight Before Fandom?" Which went swimmingly. We talked of the ways fandom is a safe space, not just for sexuality, but for other nonconforming behavior. The crochet panel didn't go. I hung out until 5 after the hour, but no one showed. Howvere, [livejournal.com profile] wickedwords, I made good headway on your shawl while watching vids.

I caught some vids. Actually, I've watched vids until my eyes are blurry. The only ones that really stood out were California Crew's "Holding out for a Hero" and "Big Spender." [livejournal.com profile] ireneheron and I caught Azonia's "Whisper." Evanescence still makes my ears bleed, and I really, really don't think the floor was supposed to be pitching like a poop deck in hurricane. But I'm glad I've seen it, even if the cuts and fx hit me like slaps in the face. I understand this is one where the editing is supposed to be part of the vid. I saw the slash show, and it wasn't bad. I liked [livejournal.com profile] kwaldo12's Get a Job for Stargate. But more than two Sentinel vids in a row is TOO Darn Many.

Bunny's Terra vid elicited some "awwwws" and Mudd's Brave New World vid to "Sing" lost his audience. But "To all the girls i loved before" was a hit. Even Obi's "Fundamentals" got a good reception.

I worked the zine room until 1 and the caught the slash show.

Bunny is passed out and I need some sleep. It's been a busy day,

Umm, we combined, remember? It merged with the Fannish Crafts panel which was right next door, which is where I was. I did pop my head in to the "old" crochet room to see if anyone was there, but you must have come and gone in the time I spent looking for paper and pen and tape to make a little sign saying "Crochet Next Door."

(The combining of panels made it to the Pocket Program, but not to the main program, i.e., the Red Book.)

Sorry I missed you.
