So today was the first performance of The Crucible. They did a tech run in the morning that was just painful. But the afternoon performance was really good. I do so love live theater.

I think Bunny has watched Gone with the Wind a time too many. She's apparently been taking lessons from Butterfly McQueen on how to appear bone-lazy, sly and deceitful. Because there is something deeply wrong with Mercy Lewis. It's not the pure hateful sociopathy of Abagail, or the fear of Mary Warren. It's a meanness that goes to the core. To cap it all, she robs the minister of half a year's pay and skips off to Boston with ~~her girlfriend~~ Abagail.

The Abagail is brilliant. Ann Putnam is very good. Mary Warren looks like such a mouse (and she's a tiny thing) that when she goes into full on "possessed" mode, it's really scary. (she played Gollum in the Rep's version of The Hobbit)

Dollface was really good through it all.

We got done in time to pick up the boys from school, not something I'll do again on a Wednesday (trash day).

Obi has to do a report on Jupiter.

Tomorrow I pay bills.
Friday noon, I go register for MSC and then come home.
Saturday we spend all day.
