Scene III: The Squicky Palpatine-Luke Seduction duet
With massive apologies to Andrew Lloyd Weber
(Interior: Coruscant, the Imperial palace. Luke has been thawed, treated and stripped to skimpy black briefs. He is bound to a vertical rectangular frame, spread eagle to show off all the nicely developed Jedi musculature. The frame is pushed into the throne room by two stormtroopers and followed by Vader.)
Emperor: So the Son of Skywalker is before me. (Descends stairs) Welcome, my young apprentice to your new life. You will join us in the darkness. It is your destiny.
(Sings)
Nighttime sharpens,
Heightens each sensation.
Darkness, stirs and wakes imagination.
Silently the senses abandon their defenses
Helpless to resist or even fight..
(circles the frame. Luke tenses.)
Slowly, gently
The Dark unfurls its splendor.
Grasp it, sense it
Tremulous and tender.
(Palpatine traces ancient Sith symbols, leaving faint reddish tracery in the air, over Luke’s upper torso. Luke manfully glares straight ahead.)
Vader comes in, contrabasso:
turn your face away from the garish light of day.
turn your thoughts away from cold unfeeling light and listen to the music of the night Palpatine resumes, turning Luke’s frame to face a view screen, where he conjures images that are unreal:
Close your eyes
and surrender to your darkest dreams.
(Screen fills with beautiful people, male and female, all beckoning seductive for a moment, then clears and throngs of richly dresssed people kneel before the screen in homage, clears again and more scenes of power wealth and sex appear throughout verse)
purge your thoughts of the life you knew before
close your eyes
let your spirit start to soar
and you'll live as you've never lived before.
(Luke turns his face away, tempted but resisting)
(Viewscreen vanishes, leaving only Palpatine, who grows younger each time he touches Luke, which he does constantly, until he too is a beautiful youth)
Softly, Deftly,
Darkness shall caress you.
Hear it, Feel it,
Secretly posses you.
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind,
In this darkness which you know you cannot fight,
(Youthful!Palpatine draws close, holding Luke’s face in his hands and this verse is delivered tenderly and seductively)
let your mind
Start a journey through a strange new world
Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before!
let your soul
take you where you long to be!
Only then can you belong to me...
(Luke jerks his head away and attempts to elbow Palpatine in the face.)
Palpatine: Foolish Jedi. If the pleasures of the Dark Side cannot sway you, then taste its power! (Uses lowlevel Force lightening to make Luke writhe on the frame, screaming.) Yes, Scream for me! Scream to be allowed into the Dark you so easily rejected!
