Sunday and Monday
Mar. 7th, 2005 10:32 pmYesterday was gorgeous.
I had a very rare Sunday off work, so we went to fighter practice.
Obi is a born stick-jock. He armored right up and when Waffle suggested he wale on a tree, he charged it. With a war cry, no less. And when Dex gave him a chance to hit on a live fighter, he was all over that.
Jonner held my hand and acted bashful. Bunny got her first handkiss from
synamontwist. She turned a bit pink. He invited me to join a LARP at MidSouthCon, but it conflicts with the banquet and the masquerade.
Then Jonner went to a birthday pizza party and I made hash at home from the left-over roast for the rest of us.
And there was cleaning and baths and stories. Insomnia struck and I didn't get to sleep until 4.
And this morning I woke with a sore throat. I worked 8-12, which is a nuisance. After I picked up Dollface from Fairy's house, we had a nice 2 hour nap befre venturing out in the rain to fetch her brothers. I have a conference with Jonner's teacher Thursday. He consistantly fails his spelling tests, but makes As on the pretests and assignments. I suspect a hearing problem.
Spaghetti is so good on a cold yucky evening. And I went to the Parents' Meeting for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I have an Oompa Loompa (Obi) and a Squirrel (Jonner). Bunny is helping out backstage because she has too many scheduling conflicts with The Crucible.
I found some heavy sage-green cotton for her costume, and some supersoft stuff for her shift. I draft patterns tomorrow. We had a nice chat with the D-Man. He hasn't picked up his mail, so no B-day present yet.
Obi made a dragon pinata tonight. I got a pair of anthologies in the mail Did you say CHICKS? and Chicks and Chained Males. They are companion volumes to Chicks in Chainmail and Turn the other Chick.
I also finished most of Deadly Quicksilver Lies, one of the Garret books by Glen Cook.
I haven't started my remix yet. Deadline? I laugh in the face of deadlines! Then I run and hide until they pass.
And a bit of simming.
