Tell me of your favorite bad boys of fandom.
Your gamblers. Your hard-drinking womanizers. Who are they and why do you love them?

My short list:

Starbuck. Blond, beautiful and utterly unrepentant. Whether it's teaching Boxy to play Pyramid for mushies, flying like a demon, flirting with anything female, or ogling Apollo in his Triad uniform, the man is naughty.

Q. Renegade of the Continuum, with an unhealthy fascination for humans.

Will Riker. Quinessential bad boy. Expressed as "Will Riker, interstellar sex drone" for the first couple seasons. Taught Data to play poker.

Han Solo. Minor outlaw, cold-blooded killer, gambler and flirt.

Other than that, I'm having trouble thinking of any more.
Bad boys aren't really fashionable right now, it seems. Stone cold killers and neurotics are much more common.

Jack Sparrow, Phantom of the Opera (Erik), Hannibal Lecter, um...

I guess my only bad boys are not really the classic example of bad boys. So far we have a gay pirate and two eccentric, deadly geniuses.

Nicholas Wolfwood, Trigun. I love him madly. He's some species of priest who chain-smokes, drinks like a fish, carries around a cross bigger than he is that's actually a combination rocket launcher and machine gun, and gets all indignant when Vash the Stampede gets on his case about the "Thou shalt not kill" thing.

And also the Malfoy men, just because.

Lionel Luthor.

Beautiful, evil man. Pardon me I'll be swooning over here.

Kain -- Legacy of Kain video games. He slaughters peasants, drinks their blood, and laughs whenever he kills someone. But he wants to take care of his realm and "deal justice fairly to all." I love him.

Riku -- Kingdom Hearts. Supposed to be the keyblade master, but succumbed to the darkness. Cute as hell.

Raphael -- Ninja Turtle. Not my fave turtle, but I love his rampant anger issues.

Luke Skywalker -- I know, I know, he seems like an angelic farmboy, pure and perfect, but he's such a bad boy at heart. Lying to his uncle, slaughtering his enemies, disobeying his masters, dabbling in the darkside... :) KC

Oliver Sampson from VR.5. Cold-blooded killer when he needs to be, rebel when pricked by his conscience, loyal to a fault, yet always working on his own agenda. The colder he gets, the more I shiver (in a good way!)

Ares, God of War. Black leather and more sex appeal than entire pantheons of other gods.

Starbuck, from Battlestar Galactica. Shameless rogue who can manage a date with 2 women at the same time, in the very same establishment, without any being the wiser until he slips away. Knows how to handle his booze, cards, women, & pistol, and he's a damn fine pilot who only needs the end of his nose as a reference point to fly himself out of trouble. Never leaves a man behind.

Spike, from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. All around bad boy with a delightful irreverence for authority, or anybody getting between him & what he wants. Good with witty banter to keep situations out of his control from getting too serious.

Angel, from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Rogue in sheep's clothing who wants to do right, hates being the vampire he is, a seeker of personal redemption, and patron of lost causes. Evil unto Evil.

Ash, from Army of Darkness. Womanizer & wise-cracking tough guy with not only an irreverence for authority, but the Cosmic Order of Things as well who isn't afraid to take shortcuts when it suits him, but who'll clean up any mess of his own making.

The Joker, from Batman. Just so deliciously... TWISTED. I don't care if it's the campy 1970's TV series, the animated series done by Warner Brothers, or up on the big screen. Always a hoot!

Scaramanga, a James Bond villain from The Man With The Golden Gun.
Stylish assassin. One bullet; one shot; one kill. Lives on his own private island, and maintains an elaborate personal Fun House wherein to pit himself against & kill select victims--who are also noted professional killers at the top of their game--to keep in practice without taking himself out of harm's way in the process.

Indiana Jones. Womanizer, tomb robber, heart-breaker, thief, card cheat, and damned if he ain't good with a whip... but he does know when to pull a gun rather than play at swords with somebody out of his league. Uses any advantage he can muster to accomplish his immediate goal.

Captain Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of The Caribbean. A rogue with principles. Ya just gotta like that.

Sinbad, from the 2003 DREAMWORKS animated movie, voiced by Brad Pitt. Laughing daredevil, thief, shameless womanizer, and yet still a leader of men with a conscience who will not abandon a friend left in a lurch... even at the likely cost of his own life.

Flynn, from TRON, played by Jeff Bridges. Irreverent loner, computer programmer & hacker, just trying to get his due.

Riddick, from Pitch Black & Chronicles of Riddick, played by Vin Diesel. Dangerous bad boy by no real choice of his own because he just does not fit in with society at large. Fears nothing but disappointnig his own conscience. Chaotic to the core, but when he chooses to stand for something or somebody, he is unshakable.
