Yesterday, it was 35 degrees.
Today it is 60.
I am definitely premenstrual and it's rubbbing off on everyone around me. I snapped at Dollface twice and Jonner once. Let's not even get into the horrible shouting row I got into with Mudd over shouting about the darn checkbook being unbalanced. (His fault for a very rare change)

Got a page or so written on the "Naughty" story for Torquere. Somehow a librarian having a lesbian affair with a shape-shifting Martian (who has a bounty on her head) feels more perverse, but not really 'naughtier' than a pair of guys jerking in the balcony during a play. Naughty is frivolous and light-hearted. Naughty is hooking cookies from the cookie jar and mom catching you. Naughty is garter snakes down the back of someone's shirt. Naughty is a bare ankle, or any patch of bare skin you really don't expect. Naughty is going dancing on a Sunday.

Naughty is cleavage that is just a hair too low for the occasion. (My wedding dress, for example) Kinky is nipples pinched in a car window being driven around town at 2 AM on a cold night.

Big difference, in my lexicon at any rate.

Here's the mental vocabulary I use in thinking about males and my social and emotional interactions with them, online and offline. Boys are not worth my time; I am not their babysitter nor their mother nor their plaything. Guys are interesting and sometimes highly irritating and sometimes a lot of fun, sometimes worth my time if I am in the mood but not a good long-term investment. Men are... adults. Like everything I respect about my women friends, only male. Interesting and respectable and respecting and tolerant and inquisitive and creative. Until I know which someone is and figure out how much time to spend getting to know him, he's a fellow.

I like this. I like this a lot. And she has stated--far more elegantly--the mental paradigm I have used for years.

I will make exception for boys who are still of boy-age. Because, yeah, I AM their mother, or their buddy's mother, or the room mother for a party. But if you are old enough to drive a car and hang out on adult-oriented discussion forums? You'd better be at least a guy.

The main problem with out society is that we expect them to be "guys." Males are not encouraged to grow into men. They are, as Lewis said "rushing ahead as fast as they can to the silliest time of their lives and stopping there as long as possible." Hence the lengthy stop in the 20s and the realization around 35 that they aren't as far on their lifepaths as their fathers were at that age.

Apropos of nothing:

Since I signed up for Remix/Redux does that mean I need to update my website? Get the newer fandoms on there so the person has more to choose?

I don't think that was an official sign up; I thought it was just asking for indications of interest. *chews fingers* I need to get my website up before the official signups because my stuff is spread all over the place.
