Still ticked off
Oct. 16th, 2004 11:15 amI am seriously hacked at George Lucas. He not only altered Han's character by letting Greedo shoot first, he altered the establishing shot of Luke!
I was vidding last night from the SE (so shoot me, I wanted wide-screen). And I wanted the shot where Luke is slouching along beside Uncle Owen, bored and sullen. IT'S GONE! The new shot is done in long shot from under the sandcrawler's treads (and don't tell me it's droid PoV, the droids are on the OTHER side of the tread), and we don't see Luke's face or body language until he perks up because Aunt Beru calls him.
Maybe it's Lucas' attempt to make him less whiny. I think the sense of being bored and trapped initially sets the stage for Luke to grow up.
