Full time work needs to happen. So I keep applying.

I applied for a warehouse position.
They wanted me to do six essay questions about my career goals and teamwork! And a credit check atop it all.
For a WAREHOUSE job.

This is getting ridiculous.

I can't list my actual career goal:
I want to work a non-demanding, non-mentally stressful job, make a living wage so I can go home and write books.

I hear you re: hoop-jumping. The part-time retail type positions I've been applying for require, among other things an assessment test (seriously, I spent less time applying for college). Fortunately I've been on LJ a long time and am very good at answering these sorts of questions in advantageous ways, but honestly! First of all, no, I've never stolen from an employer; second, even if I had, I'm not dumb enough to admit it; and third, what kind of applicants have you had to deal with that you have to ask this question multiple times on the same test?

But needs must when the devil drives, I guess, and it's a buyer's market jobwise these days. Sigh. Good luck!
