Mothers' Day
May. 10th, 2004 02:19 amWhat I wanted for Mothers' Day:
A new dress, good shoes, an orchid corsage, and brunch that involved strawberry infused mimosas, eggs benedict, raspberry blintzes, bacon and asparagus tips. And scones with strawberries and whipped cream. An afternoon trip to a spa, and an evening of lovemaking.
What I got for Mothers' Day:
4 pieces of Little Caesar's Pizza
an envelope with "Happy Mother Day I love You HappyHappy Mother" containing a sheet of paper with a poem and Jonner's footprint. And signed "I love you. Jon."
A pink construction paper card, with Obi's "Blond Ron Weasley" school picture glued in the center of a flattened muffin paper. On a stem. It opened backward (a most Obi touch) to show a thumbprint froggy and a poem. He signed his full name (as if there are other Obis in my life) and his babyname, misspelled "Ciscat." (it was KissCat) I think that was the point when I started crying.
I'd say I made out like a bandit. Even without the mimosa brunch, and even having to go to work at 1 PM.
