minotaurs interviewed me, and my answers are here:
1) What's your earliest memory?
I am very young, under 2 certainly, and my mother is kneeling in the front room of our house in Raytown. She's doing something with a cardboard box that has a wood-grain print. She looks very young (she's no more than 24), has her hair piled on top of her head in a 60's do and is wearing a rust colored minidress. I walk to her.
2) Do you think you're capable of killing someone? What would it take to drive you to that point?
Deliberately, in cold blood, no. In a blind rage, it's likely I could do it accidentally. I have a very foul temper.
3) What is it about your favorite pairing that makes them so special to you?
Luke Skywalker was my first human media crush. (he supplanted Speed racer and Disney's Robin Hood) I came out of SW in 1977 loving him beyond reason. As I saw the movie more often, and read the pro novels (there were 5 of them: the novelization, Splinter of the Mind's Eye and the Han Solo Trilogy) I came to identify more with Han, but I never stopped loving Luke.
There were bits in the movie that always embarassed me and left me feeling weird. These are the bits that I now see as slash. Then I discovered slash. And everything made sense. I left Buffydom because of lack of weekly fix (I was in the market with no WB) and SW consumed me again, as it had in my early teens. It was so easy, and it all made sense. Because I was still Han to a degree and I still loved Luke.
4) What do you think about when you're in the shower?
usually planning my day or noodling out a story.
5) Who was the first guy/girl you kissed? What was going through your mind right before and during?
Eric Braun back in 1st grade. "I hope Mrs. Beatty doesn't catch us!"
