So, there have been questions as to when I will be writing on Nikolai again.

My question is, do I need to?

I feel brutally prescient.

The Reign of Fortune – Rodney White, 2016-2020
A sudden and fierce competitor, Rodney White won the 2016 election in a landslide, taking the office of President at 55.

Promising an end to the progressive steps that the US had taken so far, he began a virulent attack on public services with a matching Congress. Heath care was almost immediately routed to a voucher program, and while the Democratic majority in the justice system carried the civil and social rights programs forward, the States fought back.

Tension grew hot and heavy when Texas, in 2018, passed legislation in direct contradiction of the Supreme Court and upheld it. The standoff lasted for almost a year before a new States’ Rights bill, called the Grady Bill, was passed through Congress, allowing for the conscientious objection of the states.

White signed it with great aplomb, as the monetary stipulation had been already placed within. The Democrats termed this the “Reign of Fortune” immediately after Social Security was laid to rest and several other programs found gravestones right next to it, along with public education, instead switching to a voucher program of its own.

The influx of money to the Federal Government was extensive, and badly mishandled. When White left office in 2020, he left the country, never to be seen again, amidst rumors that much of the overage had gone into his own pockets.
