Fic: Time Enough

Usual disclaimers
Written in 5 minutes.
Time enough at last. The Empire down. The New
Republic up and running. The Fire of the Jedi once
more kindled. Now there was time for everything he'd
denied himself, for all the dreams he'd once had.
Luke moved through the house slowly, no longer with
the bounce of youth or even the calm strides of middle
age. He made the tea, and poured two cups, his own
and Han's.
The light began to fail, and he stepped out the back
door into the yard they had never managed to get
converted to the formal garden he'd wanted.
The flamepetal bloomed green and gold in the very back
corner. He walked out, and sat on the mound beneath
it, watching the sunset as they always did together.
The last fifty years had been busy, and he'd died
twice, only to be snatched back from the Oneness of
the Force by his lover.
The sun set, and the moons rose, but Luke did not.
The stars came out, but he did not go in. Dawn began
to break on the cold face of the Jedi Master.
"So, finally decided to join me?" the much loved
voice he had not heard for six months teased him.
"We've time enough at last, Han."
They shimmered, and were gone on the flamepetal-
scented night.
