How'd they get that past the censors?
Dec. 27th, 2016 10:01 pmI never fail to be amazed at what the fantasy shows manage to get past Standards and Practices.
Last week, I watched an underage, nonconsentual, snuff threesome.
Tonight, I watched a 60 year old man seduce a 17 year old girl, and she never even realized it.
The first is Cordelia's death scene in the Buffy episode, "the Wish." (3.9) Syndication almost always cuts the moment when Xander reaches around to stroke Willow's hair while they devour her. I remembered seeing it when I first watched it, but reruns cut it until i questioned the memory. There on Netflix in all its kinky glory.
The second is the end of the Smallville episode "Witness" (2.20) Personal space is a concept Lionel Luthor observes with great subtlety. Certain people merit plenty. Others merit none at all. Chloe... falls into the "he's much too close but i mustn't say anything" category. He seduces her with money (a generous grant to the school, for the journalism department), turns her head with compliments of her talent and seals the deal with a column at the Daily Planet. Chloe is left staring as he looks back, one last time in the door, with a smile for her. She's kinda feeling snared by the whirlwind.
And I SO want a shower after watching that. or a smoke. Not sure.
