Star Wars, in case you've been under a rock for the last 25 years
He was raised on the desert planet of Tatooine by his aunt and uncle. Their deaths at the hands of imperial stormtroopers, coupled with the mysterious plans hidden inside a droid and the intervention of one of the last Jedi, Ben Kenobi--once called Obi-wan--catapulted Luke into the adventure he'd dreamed of for so long.
The first order of business was getting off Tatooine. To this end, Ben booked passage with a pair of reckless smugglers: Han Solo and his wookiee first mate Chewbacca.
They rescued Princess Leia, owner of the droids and leader of the Rebel Alliance
from the clutches of the evil Darth Vader
and destroying a planet-killing battle-station.
In the second movie The Empire Strikes Back, Luke learns more of being a Jedi, Han and Leia are captured by the Empire and luke is drawn into a premature confrontation with Darth Vader. Luke and Leia escape, but Han is still the captive of one of his creditors.
In Return of the Jedi, Han is rescued, and Luke confronts both Vader and the Emperor.
As for slashiness, where to start? The icon above is an actual screen capture.
Lucasfilm claims there is no homosexuality in a Galaxy Far Far Away.
But the movies argue otherwise.
This is Luke and his childhood friend Biggs saying goodbye before Biggs heads off on his first mission fresh out of the Academy. They're intense, they touch a lot. The scene bogs down, and hence was cut from the movie.
When Luke meets Han, the sparks fly. There is major flirting in that first meeting, and afterward, they are perpetually in each other's space. Touching, hugging, reassuring.
(The best slashy moments are collected in a video at http://home.ipa.net/~rsparrow )
But this, the goodbye look Han sends after Luke on the ice planet Hoth (after he's ridden out into a blizzard risking his own life against impossible odds to save Luke) is the moment we slashers melt for. The camera lingers, and lingers.
Other minorly slashed characters include
Lando Calrissian
A gambler and con artist, Lando now runs Cloud City. There's a fair chemistry between him and Han, and one wonders what incident Han is "sure he's forgotten all about that." Han trusts Lando enough to let him fly his beloved Millennium Falcon in the third movie.
Wedge Antilles
The only survivor (other than the lead characters) of all three movies. Wedge, Red 3, is one of Luke's wingmen (Biggs is the other until he dies). Some people slash him with Luke.
The most common couple is, however, Luke and Han.
("Demon" by Zyene)
There are some who write Han/Chewbacca, and others who write Luke/Vader.
Major fic archive links
The prime Han/Luke site is Elusive Lover
http://www.elusive-lover.de
It has the first two Elusive Lover zines, plus a variety of other fic.
Also, there are links to other sites, and ordering information for the other 4 paper Elusive Lover zines and the Sanctuary Moon zine.
The SWA-L archive has more Han/Luke, some Luke/Lando, and even a Luke/Ben
http://www.squidge.org/swal/
Elizabeth Stuart has Luke/Vader, Luke/Han and Han/OMC at her site

The Darth Side is ZP Florian's Archive. Alas, ZP is in poor health and continuing to deteriorate. There will be no updates.

Irene Heron's Luminous Beings has some really excellent Han/Luke that is not available on Elusive Lover

The Luke_and_Han mailing list at yahoogroups maintains a large archive of pictures, and has many stories in the back posts

Anyone with other recs or sites is welcome to post them in the comments, because I'm taking off my pimp hat for the moment

My site died in the geocities crash and I let it because I've left fandom and am writing professionally.
But it has been recovered and is here:

The Darth side has outlived its creator. To my surprise it is still around.

Date: 2011-08-31 06:26 am (UTC)Ahaha, yes I know you ditched the fandom, but if you find time, maybe help someone who's more recently and still into it? Like, if you still have zine's with Han/Luke in them (or just one or the other) I'd like buy them off you. Just can't find them anymore. *pouts* Been too long since a new movie release.

Date: 2011-09-12 02:50 am (UTC)Inconveniences...I'm not sure that was ever finished.
I still have zines, but not sure of their condition or whether I can even access them. (I think it would entail cleaning my bedroom)
Let me do some looking. I acquired a BUNCH of vintage zines back in the day. As in xeroxed, with Wedge Antilles falling for a unicorn riding Mary Sue type zines. Pre-net.
