Active right up to the last years. Who else cuts a heavy metal Christmas album for their 90th birthday? Bun developed a crush on him in the Star Wars movies, when he was in his 80s. She was in her teens. That's charisma.
The Guardian said he went Sunday from heart failure.
My favorite story was the one he told in the prologue of a horror anthology. He and his wife had been driving in Italy in the 70s. They had a flat tire just after dark and he walked to the nearest house, a couple miles away. The villager recognized him instantly and was terrified that Dracula had come to eat him. It took quite some time to convey the message that he simply needed a telephone.
