Anthony listened to them discuss his diagnosis out in the hall. He couldn't help but cringe as he listened to the collection of problems the doctor was telling Ligatos about. Well, if he wanted to send him back, he'd send back a corpse. And at least he'd gotten a last meal. He abruptly broke into laughter at this, feeling momentarily as if Ligatos had gone puppy shopping at the local animal shelter and was trying to figure out if he could live with fleas and shredded furniture. The laughter was almost-but-not-quite hysterical, and silenced quickly.
Ligatos glanced back into the room. Anthony winced to hear, "And a couch session or two with Dr. Michelino in Italy wouldn't hurt him either." Italy. They couldn't find a shrink in the whole of North America qualified, so they were going to have to go to Italy to get his head shrunk. Great.
