5 Favorite Shortlived TV shows:
Firefly Could have been a really great show, but someone at Fox had their head up their butt, showed the eps out of order, didn't run the pilot, and failed to hype the lesbian sex.
Wizards and Warriors 8 episodes, very expensive, very funny. Jeff Conaway as the (literally) gleaming Prince Erik Greystone, Julia Duffy as the bimbo Princess Ariel, and a leather-clad Duncan Reghar as their nemisis Prince Dirk Blackpool. Everyone rooted for Dirk.
Brimstone 8 eps. Zeke Stone is sent to recapture 113 evil souls who escaped from Hell. John Glover cemented his typecasting by playing the Devil. Exceedingly slashy show.
Quark Interstellar garbageman, Quark, and his bizarre crew (clones Betty 1 & 2, Gene/Jean who looks female and sounds male, and a plant that's the navigator) seek out and explore new worlds collecting new forms of junk. Pilot and 7 episodes
Logan's Run 14 eps of Logan and Jessica on the run through post-apocalyptic eart. Not as good as the movie.

Date: 2003-08-12 08:09 pm (UTC)I'd totally forgotten Logan's Run was a series. I watched for Donald Moffat. I think I had a crush on his eyebrows. Yes, even at that young age, I was weird.
Hi
Date: 2003-08-12 08:30 pm (UTC)Dirk! I loved W&W and Dirk was, of course, my absolute favorite character. So cool, so dark. So much leather.
Several years after this was on, I watched (and still do; I adore the cheesiness of it) "The Last Days of Pompeii" and was pleasantly surprised to find out just how much of those broad shoulders was really him, not just the Shoulder Pads of Doom.
There's a short story by someone named A.J. Potter in a gay short story fantasy collection call Swords of the Rainbow which strangely, weirdly reminded me of W&W. It's called "Birthmarked" and in it, the valiant hero prince, Keir (who is described as being quite handsome from a distance), goes to see his once-friend, now enemy, Duncan Vaughn (who is Eeeeee-vil), to negotiate a peace. And ends up sleeping with him instead.
Ah, if only. *g*

Date: 2003-08-13 07:37 pm (UTC)Oh my GOD I thought I was the only person on Earth who had ever seen that series! I totally rooted for Dirk and his endearingly idiotic younger brother. But damn, he was creaky in all that leather.
