There are tons of these.

I am currently signed up with

Inbox Dollars (read email, take surveys): $19.57 at this time. Need $30 to cash out
Ibotta (get rebates on groceries): $4.05, need $10 to cash out
Swagbucks: just started
Bing.com (alternate search engine): 169 points, Need 525 to cash out
Shopkicks (walk into store, get points): 3831 points, Worth about $15 in gift cards. 1.8 million gets me a vespa
Ebates: I seldom order on line, so haven't used
Viggle: 26,090 points. Almost enough to cash in for a free movie, or enough for 8 songs.
Media Insiders (monitors my net usage): 150 points Takes several thousand for cashout.

I'm thinking I need to organize better and set a day just for doing these. I use Bing all the time, instead of Google.

It was a rough year. But we survived.
I lost Mom in December. In September, frequent commenter the D-Man, Darren Bloomquist, was taken from us by a 17 year old with a gun.

The bed-making fell apart over the summer. But I can do it. I did it for 6 months.
My LJ work has been slowing down. I need to get it back up. But a lot of content ended up at the blogspot. I managed to do the October and December postings. And Pie Friday seemed to work well.

I kept working for Action Link and finished my first year with them.
I got hired for seasonal part time at Michaels. Hoping they keep me on.

I had all my teeth pulled in May. So, there are no more brutal toothaches. The dentures serve their purpose.
I did two rounds with scabies
Oli-chan was diagnosed with Reynaud's syndrome.

Obi-Wan Chrisobi was sent to Korea. He also bought his first car and got a tattoo. It matches mine.

We got a new Washer and Dryer. And cleaned out a chunk of the garage.
We also learned the anomaly in Mudd's pay schedule. He gets double checks in June, and none in July. Weird.

I got to see something I thought I never would: actual movie footage of Harry Houdini doing escapes.

I had two books come out this year: Terror of the Frozen North and Somewhere Out There. I wrote a short story for a pulp fiction animal attack anthology. I had an essay in Invisible 2. I gave up on NaNo earlier than I ever have

We had three kittens arrive in July and one die in August. The other two are delights.

Jonner got accepted to ASU in Jonesboro on a partial scholarship.
Jonner got braces

Oli-chan attended her first formal dance.

Inkstained Succubus re-released Crossroads, published 1KRV5, Matters of Scale, Somewhere Out There and Winter Shivers.
We started a craft division, Conspiracy Arts.
We started a newsletter.
Our first audiobook is up for sale. Our second awaits my approval.
Gabriel suffered from major teeth problems and a couple of nasty ovarian cysts. These incapactitated him throughout much of the year.
We went to a lot of conventions. I met writers I've read for years.

We lost Terry Prachett, Leonard Nimoy, Tanith Lee, Maureen O'Hara, Yogi Berra, Wes Craven, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Omar Sharif, Dean Jones, James best, Mario Cuomo, Donna Douglas, Grace Lee Whitney, Fred Thompson, Robert Loggia, Melissa Matheson

Helluva a year.

Sixteen years ago, I spent New Year's Eve in the hospital, having delivered my 4th child pretty much by myself. Mudd was home with the other three. The doctor was stitching the 9 AM delivery. And me, I braced my feet, rang for the nurse, grabbed the handles and pushed.

Happy birthday, baby girl. You have grown into an amazing, creative, beautiful girl. I am eager to see the woman you will become.

Sounds of the Season:

I know a man whose name is Lang
And he has a neon sign.
And Mr. Lang is very old,
so we call it Old Lang's Sign!

So we've reached the end of another Yuletide Youtube and another year. I hope you've enjoyed it. Thank you for bearing with me. Some days, this was the only thing that kept me out of depression. let me know if the format worked for you and what you'd like to see next year.

From all of us here at Chez Mudd, to all of you and yours, May your 2016 be better than 2015.

valarltd: (50 movie)
I started the year with the final Hobbit movie and ended it with the new Star Wars.
That latter needs its own post. But ZOMG! I still have all the feels.

The list is under the Cut. * are Rewatches

Best of the year:
Star Wars
Big Fish
The two Hobbits
Inception
Houdini
Iron Jawed Angels
Great Mouse Detective

Worst of the Year:
Hero Wanted
Cast a Deadly Spell
The Oblong Box
Hercules
A Killing Affair

It was quite the year of Daniel Radcliffe with 10 movies.

I also did a complete Sons of Anarchy Rewatch, clear through Season 7
The Smallville Rewatch died in Season 5, with Jonathan Kent.
Watched all of Supernatural, up through Season 10.
I'm into Season 2 of Twilight Zone, 4 of Criminal Minds and a few Once Upon a Times.
valarltd: (books)
I didn't read 50 books.

But I did log 26. * are re-reads. No commentary. Of the 26, 17 are by women. The men on the list, reed, Prachett, Daley are authors of long reading (and a couple of personal encounters) and so trusted. Daniel Smith, the only male not on the "long acquaintance" list was a sore disappointment.

2015 ended as inauspiciously as it began. With a sad birthday party where 2 people got sick and went to lie down.

I'm going to bed. 2016 can see itself in.
