The real test of an OT3 (one true threesome) is "Who rides in the back seat on long car trips?"

Supernatural has canon for this: Castiel.

Got to thinking, which is never good.

In ST: McCoy rides in the back. He grumbles but he like the chance to spread out, maybe steal a nap.

In SW: Luke and Leia BOTH ride in the back. Luke's always on the right, working the naviputer if Han hasn't swatted him away from it, and Leia's on the left with the comm board.

Firefly, I think Kaylee gets the backseat, just because Jayne would insist on driving and would trust River behind him.

In a mental but nonsexual triangle, Jean Grey gets the backseat, at first because of her age and the law and later out of habit. The daddies always ride up front.

Oz would cheerfully ride in the back because Giles is driving and Willow gets queasy in the backseat.

Parker likes the back seat when Hardison is driving. She has a bad habit of going out the moonroof without telling him or Eliott.

In my own 'verse, James Ligatos is always chauffeured. Nick or Anthony would be driving, since David does so only in emergencies.

What's your OT3, and who rides in the back?

I talked about a stalker who was making me feel uncomfortable online.

There's a response. Go read it.

This is classic mansplaining. Note the telling me what to do: as if I hadn't already changed the ID in question. (I have had email since 1987. This LJ has been up since 2002. Please don't lecture me on things I already know)

Note the minimization, the excusing as a "dedicated fan." Yeah, tell it to Annie Wilkes and John Hinkley.
If it is a fan in question, this is a feral fan who has never been taught proper etiquette.

The first rule of fandom is Do Not Profit. These are not your creations, you do not get money.

The second is Do Not Approach the Talent. Do not put your fanwork in front of them (remember Blake's 7!). Do not send them tawdry sexual fantasies. Do not ask for freebies. Visit, be polite, and do not monopolize their time.

When I put something here, I put out as much of it as I am willing to share. Nobody has any right to more of it than that. Discussions in the comments are welcome, but will be shut down for gendered slurs.

Also the fun bit of "It's your own fault he's interested." There it is, folks: rape culture in a nutshell.

The line between fan and stalker can be a blurry one. But it is there. When the focus of the interest becomes aware of the interest and starts feeling the need to limit their life because of it, that's when it's been crossed.

I may have 35 pictures of Oded Fehr and 20 of Anjelica Huston on my computer, in their own files. I may even have photoshopped them together as visual inspiration. But they will never know this (Do Not Approach the Talent) and the pics are all from very public sources, often screencaps or magazine spreads. This is fandom. If I was taking the pictures with a telephoto lens, personally, and letting them know I had these, that would be different.

It's one thing to have a fanbase. It means hugs at conventions, someone coming over to check out the latest books and maybe mention "I get a kick out of your photodumps." It's another thing entirely to have someone pressing for more information than you're willing to make public, demanding photos of private activity or generally letting you know they know everywhere you are and what you are saying on the net.

Sitting in the dr office and hopefully going to get this rash figured out. Will ask for a double scrip as Mudd has it too. Thighs, arms, abdomen back we've got little red spots and lots of itch.

Tired.

I got up, and accomplished a bit and then went to the doctor around noon.
Scabies.
I have scabies again.

Then a trip to the bank, a late lunch, and a traffic jam (8 mph for 8 miles, took me an hour to get from the river to Walgreens, a 10 minute drive), a long, slow line at Walgreens for the permethrin cream, the McDonald's drive-thru because [livejournal.com profile] gabrielbelthir needed dinner and is having medical issues of zir own. And even a line at Dollar Tree where I got a soda to wash down what started as 3 naproxin and ended up being 2 vicodin. It was a 2 vicodin day and I STILL hurt.

On top of it all, I managed to miss a conference call about a wedding I am co-officiating in about 3 weeks.

Then a trip to Wal-Mart, where there were 3 registers open and 40 people checking out. I am not exaggerating. The lines went clear back into Sportswear. I needed pillows and lice shampoo.

So, tonight was stripping all the beds, spraying them with permethrin and remaking them with clean sheets.
Then everyone got a shower, with headlice shampoo used as body wash.
Kinda of fun, getting to soap Mudd up. But chilly in that we hand to stand around and let the soap work.
And then a full-body rubdown with the cream, and off to bed for him in clean sheets.

I sprayed all the chairs and am not yet sleepy. Tired, but not sleepy. Am rehydrating.
