Obi is gone.
He checked into the recruiting office at 1535 this afternoon, and is now the property of Uncle Sam.

When Bun left, it was a relief. She had been causing drama and upheaval since she was 14. I had to quit caring about her to protect myself.

But Obi--barring a few phases--was always a good kid. He may have skipped his homework, but he still managed more passed AP exams than anyone in the history of the school. He had a biting phase, much too late, and an Angry Young Man phase and a Stinky Onion phase, when even with showers and deodorant, he was unbearable in a closed car.

But it's the little guy who, the day after he got the training wheels off his bike, participated in a bike rodeo (wearing pink sparkly nail polish), the one who entertained a fussy baby during a SJ Tucker concert. The one who could barely manage his French Horn because it outweighed him. That's my baby.

We've talked, as adults.
I said my good byes.
I put every protective charm I know on him.
Now, he's got to go out and make his own way.

And I'm going to miss him.

Mainlined 12 eps of Smallville season 2. A LOT of people die on Clark that season.

Should be devious enough to write the conclusion to my priest story now. The wicked bishop is about to catch our boys, demand his due, and be outwitted. I hope. The boys are being recalcitrant. Having trouble getting them together.

And I'll need a title for this. Also someone who knows something about the setup of the Catholic church and the difference between a cloister, a priory and a monastery.

All by Tuesday and I work tomorrow.
I can do it.
