Hello, hello, good bye good bye

I'm about to vanish into hardcore crafting for the next 72 hours. I'll be back Wednesday, after the craft fair. I have a bunch of towels with crocheted tops, some hot pads and magnets. i have to go out and get a hot glue gun (can't find mine) and make hair bows.

It's been a tough week, darlings.
Arthur has settled in for a long winter visit but good.

I got the news my company has lost the job contract I work under. My run ends January 31. I'll have to start a different sort of driving after that. I'm hoping for regional, with no touch freight. May have to get my hazmat certification.

And of course, so much crochet, my fingers are turning into acrylic by sheer osmosis. I expect the crochet is holding Arthur at bay.

There will be chicken stew with dumplings today and Rock and Rule, so very 80s. And Mudd is all schmoopy so I'm all cuddly and wishing we had a couch so we could cuddled and watch TV.

There are groceries in the freeze and pantry. There is laundry in the washer.
We are fed and clothed, sheltered and entertained. I bought a 500count bottle of Ibuprofin for $5, so the p[ain is abating. It's a good day.

My personal favorite being the skeletons tangled in the thorns at the base of the tower. Just beautiful. The authors make the virtual world seem so real to the reader that even these impossible situations are naturally accepted. Hard Reboot is a mystery for the 21st Century. It has all the elements of a thriller: benevolent characters, danger, distrust and plenty of action, plus a futuristic cyberpunk setting that will set your imagination on overdrive. Cyberpunk-noir. The sex...is hot and descriptive, if not a bit unsettling. The world in which these people live is brutal and cold, yet the authors do an excellent job of showing the main character’s love for his wife, despite the degradation he is expected to dish out. I love the intelligence of this book. Too often books classified as 'erotic' are also dumbed down for their readers. That is not the case in Hard Reboot. The vivid vocabulary, allusion and metaphor is a feast for the mind. I love the world-building...Everything is well-thought out and plausible. There are many small details that immerse the reader in this futuristic world. At first I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to follow the transitions between the physical world and the virtual world, but the authors make it easy to follow."

Caitlin jacked out, unmounted a portable drive from her base tower and then purged her entire hard drive. Naked as usual in the apartment, maintaining at least the appearance she was still a slave, for the benefit of the hidden LedaCorp cameras in the ceiling, she stretched and shook out her hair. Sean came closer and saw she wasn't sweating from this run. He snapped his fingers and she went to her knees.
