"...The descriptions in Hard Reboot are beautiful! As a denizen of Second Life, I can imagine the settings with crystal clarity. My personal favorite being the skeletons tangled in the thorns at the base of the tower. Just beautiful. The authors make the virtual world seem so real to the reader that even these impossible situations are naturally accepted. Hard Reboot is a mystery for the 21st Century. It has all the elements of a thriller: benevolent characters, danger, distrust and plenty of action, plus a futuristic cyberpunk setting that will set your imagination on overdrive. Cyberpunk-noir. The sex...is hot and descriptive, if not a bit unsettling. The world in which these people live is brutal and cold, yet the authors do an excellent job of showing the main character’s love for his wife, despite the degradation he is expected to dish out. I love the intelligence of this book. Too often books classified as 'erotic' are also dumbed down for their readers. That is not the case in Hard Reboot. The vivid vocabulary, allusion and metaphor is a feast for the mind. I love the world-building...Everything is well-thought out and plausible. There are many small details that immerse the reader in this futuristic world. At first I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to follow the transitions between the physical world and the virtual world, but the authors make it easy to follow."
