From Stuff Fundies Like:
http://www.stufffundieslike.com/2012/06/a-brief-history-of-fundamentalist-time/

The Glorious Past

The Glorious Past encompass everything from the time that Noah put the dinosaurs on the ark up through the time when our old senior pastor still ran the church and had dinosaurs running the music program. These were the days when things were done right. The biggest sin anybody committed was chewing gum in church and those people were summarily stoned to death. It was the era when missionary stories still happened in real life instead of just on flash cards. People were white, women were silent, and life was good.

The Glorious Future

This time will come only when fundamentalists end up running things. The jury is still out on whether that’s done by sweeping into office on the Republican ticket or by coming back to earth and just killing all the infidels in a post-Tribulation bloodbath. Either way the fundies are really excited about the prospects. A good time will be had by all (except the infidels).

The Present Conflict

Life in the present isn’t like it was in the old days so we’ll spend our days working to usher in the glorious future instead of wasting time on the present world. Don’t bother with art and music and culture, it’s all going to burn. There is only one mission and that is to swell the ranks of fundamentalism and prepare the troops for battle. Payday will be someday but not now. Life now is mostly pain and drudgery as well it should be. As it is written: He hath given us all things richly to enjoy the promise that some other day we’ll have fun. To the work!

It's been a long time since I really got fannish about something: reading fanfic, thinking videos, etc. I'm drifting a little. A really good Sherlock noncon medical piece got me going. I'm reading a couple of fandoms right now (Sherlock, Sons of Anarchy)

I had a vid-bunny come bounding out of the hutch the other day: A SoA Vid, for the Jimmy O arc, to "Follow me up to Carlow."

That led me to the list of vids I will never finish/make. I no longer have source material/vidding program, time or interest.

Sleeper Cell, "Morning has Broken." initial mental image: The poison wafting down on the dogs to the line "Soft the rains new fall..."

Smallville, "Brokenheartsville." A Jonathan-Martha-Lionel triangle vid.

Brimstone, "Devil's Right Hand." Ends with the killing of Gilber Jax and Stone standing up relieved. "Mama says a pistol is the devil's right hand."

Firefly, a Zoe/Wash focus video to S.J. Tucker's Crystal Cave. "Follow Innana's footsteps down, we'll find you a king in the udnerground." (getting Wash and Mal out of the hands of the torturer.)

But, I have too much pro stuff to do. So fandom is limited to watching and the occasional bit of fanfic.

I am married to a man who would go to work the day after the world ended.

He reminded me that utilities and infrastructure are automated and mostly self-sustaining.
And he maintains that people will collect in cities, ebcause that's where there are goods and services.

I maintain nobody is going back to work the day after the world ends, and once the stores run out, Maslow and Darwin come in full force.

That said, I'm trying to figure out the settlements for Barbarossa's Bitch.
We have two sets of religious whackaloons, a male-supremacist camp, several patriarchial farming settlements, a university, and an Amazon Freehold.

Like it Or Not.

"Out of Options" is the prequel to "Color of Magic/Color of Money" for those of you who read that cross-worlds story. If you didn't don't fret, Naomi and I are contracting it, the unpublished sequel "Seconds" and a third unwritten piece to Storm Moon Press.

In Out of Options, Connor supplements his inadequate pay by sex work. And one night, he picks the wrong client.

The Love that Never Dies. Yes, it's undead erotica. No, mine is not gross. Mine are the Undying we were introduced to back in Power In the Blood. This is the story for those who wanted more Marcus and Samil.

Marcus Garrett has received a new assignment, Samil. One of the oldest Undying still in the field, Samil marched in the armies of King David and has remained awake ever since. But, there are doubts as to whether the best trained modern man is a match for the half-savage Issacharite.

If you missed Power in the Blood, you've missed my best novel to date!

http://www.amberquill.com/AmberAllure/ManHunt.html comes out June 17.

June is too fine a month for a man to die. So when Thomas Lanton is informed that he's finally facing execution for the murder of his brother-in-law, he manages a prison break and flees.

For a while, Thomas's good luck holds out, and the attractive and lonely farmer in whose barn he hides takes a serious liking to him. But as Thomas soon discovers, not all chains are made of iron, nor all prisons built with stone. Indeed, sometimes blue eyes and soft words can be as effective as bars, and love can be too heavy a piece of baggage to take on the lam...

This is straight up 1930s historical m/m smut.

"I could use a man of your talents in a great many places. but I have no desire to overwork you. So tell me, what of my business interests you the most?"

Marcus gave him a shrug. "Anywhere you need me, sir."

He heard the growing frustration in Samil's voice. "Is there any title you prefer?"

Marcus shook his head and dried the dishes. "No sir. I'm simply your cook."

Samil looked at him, long and measuring. Marcus refused to squirm. Instead, he cocked his head under the scrutiny.

"Do I have something stuck somewhere?"

Samil shook his head. Marcus suspected he'd imagined the desire earlier.

"Do you prefer to be armed?"

Marcus didn't show how much the question surprised him. "Not at home. While out on business, certainly."

"You'll be accompanying me from this point on. Tonight is informal. We have a couple of jobs and meetings."

"Very good, sir. Half a minute." Marcus met him at the front door in three minutes wearing tight jeans and a black silk shirt. His wardrobe was quite thorough and some of it even pornographic.

He drove. The night wore away in a succession of meetings, a publishing house, two restaurants and three clubs. Samil did not stay long in any location. Marcus waited in the car and took him home as dawn turned the sky gray.

Once home, he changed Samil into his pajamas so quickly and neatly the other man had no chance to protest.

"Good night, sir. Unless there are any services I can offer?" It was a gamble and at the narrowing of Samil's eyes, Marcus gave a short bow. "I thought not." He turned to go.

"What services, exactly?"

Marcus turned in the doorway. "I am at your complete disposal, sir." He watched Samil debate, saw one hand go to the back of his neck in a gesture of indecision. "But if you are entirely heterosexual, I apologize for bothering you." The lie burned in his mouth. He knew better from Samil's dossier, but it wouldn't do for Samil to know he knew. He turned again for his own bed.

The next noontime, over shirred eggs, Samil looked at him. "Emperors aren't usually outed until they are dead," he said.

Marcus just nodded. "Very good, sir."

Samil rolled his eyes and slammed his coffee cup into the table. "Have you no opinions on anything, man?"

Marcus kept his face neutral. "You pay me to cook and kill and keep you comfortable. You do not pay me to have opinions."
